Opening & Closing times of Toilets – Churchdown Park

CHURCHDOWN PARK TOILETS

To ensure staff have the opportunity to be with their families during the festive season, please be advised that the toilets will be closed on the following dates:

Monday, 25th December 2017 (Christmas Day)

Tuesday, 26th December 2017 (Boxing Day)

Monday, 1st January 2018 (New Year’s Day)

Normal opening & closing times (07:30am – 3:30pm) will resume up to and following these dates.

Outdoor Equipment – Tudor Mead

The Parish Council would welcome some feedback on the use of the outdoor gym equipment at Tudor Mead. Do you use the equipment – or know others who do ? What pieces do you like or are the best to use ? Does this gym provide a realistic alternative to indoor gym membership ? We would really appreciate your feedback as this will help us to plan future projects for our parks and green spaces !

Car Parking – Firework Night (3rd November 2017)

Please note that there will be no car parking facilities at Churchdown Park  for those wishing to attend the Firework Extravaganza.

Also, due to building work adjacent to the Community Centre, the car park at the Centre will not be available for parking vehicles.

May we please ask those living within the Parish to walk to the venue (if able to do so).

For those travelling to the venue by car, may we please ask that you are mindful of parking in front of resident’s houses/driveways as access will be required.

TENDER FOR BUS SHELTER CLEANING, GRASS CUTTING & WEED SPRAYING

Tenders are invited for Grass Cutting and Weed Spraying contracts covering the period 1st April 2018 – 31st October 2018.

Tenders are invited for Bus Shelter Cleaning contract covering 1st April 2018 – 31st March 2019.

Full details and specifications are obtainable from the address below during office hours, Mon – Fri, 9.15 am to 1 pm.

 Closing date for Tenders is 12 noon, Monday, 6th November 2017.

Keep Our Village Beautiful for All

The Parish Council strive to ensure that the Village is maintained and kept tidy – to this end the Parish Council engage a number of contractors to cut back overgrown hedges, trees  and weeds on public footpaths . However it is the responsibility  of every Resident to ensure that plants and trees on your property do not encroach on Public Rights of Way .  Please help to keep our Village tidy and Public Rights of Way accessible for all by doing what is necessary . Thank you

Precept 2017 – 2018

Churchdown Parish council are pleased to announce that the precept requirement for 2017 and 2018 represents a nominal reduction from the 2016 -2017 figure.

Churchdown Park gates closure

Following a 90 day consultation period on the closure of the park gates, at Full Council on 14th March it was confirmed that the gates will be closed at night from week beginning 8th May 2017. To this end, the gates will be closed & locked at 9:30 pm and will re-open at 7:30 am the following morning. A notice will be fixed to the gate advising all visitors of this.

TBC Advice – Refuse Collection

Bank holiday refuse and recycling collections

Due to the Bank Holiday, refuse and recycling collections in Tewkesbury Borough will take place a day later than usual next week.

There will be no collections on Monday, 28 May but crews will catch up throughout the week, emptying bins a day later than scheduled, from Tuesday 29 May through to Saturday 2 June.

Tewkesbury Borough Council’s lead member for clean and green environment, Councillor Jim Mason, said: “If you’re planning on making the most of the sunshine this bank holiday with a BBQ or a garden party, remember to make use of your food caddies to recycle any leftovers and blue bins for bottles, cans and plastic packaging.”
