The Parish of Churchdown, situated in the Borough of Tewkesbury is located approximately 4 miles from Gloucester and 5 miles from Cheltenham and is one of the largest Parishes in Gloucestershire. It is a common mis conception that Churchdown ends by the Hare and Hounds, but in fact the parish continues down to the first roundabout before Innsworth.

The Council Offices are situated on Parton Road in Churchdown Park. The Offices are run by two members of staff, Miss Geraldine Connor, Clerk of Churchdown Parish Council and Mrs Denise Bullock, Assistant Clerk.
The Council also employ two Handymen that do regular litter picks and maintain the Council’s property including their play areas.
The Parish Council own and manage eight recreational grounds (Churchdown Park, Chapel Hay Rec’, John Daniel’s, St Johns Play Area, Zinnia Close Play Area, Oakhurst Close Play Area, Shamrock Close Play Area & Tudor Mead Play Area & Outdoor Gym). Churchdown Park and John Daniels’ include Football pitches and Cricket Pitches and a pavilion. There is a Pocket Park including a wild flower meadow and a Community Orchard at Churchdown Park. There is also a ‘state of the art’ concrete skatepark for skateboarders and BMX users and a dedicated dirt BMX track.
Please note that the main gate at Churchdown Park is open to vehicles between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:30 pm.
During winter months the flood lights alight at 5:00 pm and are automatically turned off at 9:30 pm.
The series of linking ponds is now a beautiful amenity and wildlife area. A professional planting plan has been drawn up and will be implemented in stages.
The Parish Council own and run two Allotment sites they are Churchdown Park situated within the Office site and Audenfield situated on Old Parton Road.
Situated around the village are Parish Notice-boards, seats and benches, bus shelters, dog bins and litter bins most are owned and maintained by the Parish Council.
The Council run various events throughout the year including a Firework Extravaganza, Summer Coach Trips, Day in the park and Autumn Fun Day. 2015 saw their first Wassail in the Community Orchard.
Planning applications can be viewed and commented on the Tewkesbury Borough website. All applications are viewed and commented on by Councillors and all comments are then returned to Tewkesbury Borough Council for Delegation/Committee. The Parish Council can only comment on applications on behalf of Residents all final decisions are made by TBC.
The Parish Council own and manage a Burial Ground situated on Chosen Hill.
The Parish Council are a grant making body and encourage requests for grants which are viewed in November of each financial year.
Taxi Voucher Scheme

Parish Council Chamber
The Council consists of 20 Councillors who meet on every second Tuesday of each calendar month (excluding August) in our Parish Council Chamber at 7.30pm. There are public toilets situated outside the Offices including a disabled toilet these are owned and maintained by the Parish Council. These are open daily between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm.
Advice and Information Centre
Tewkesbury Borough Council have an Advice and Information Centre situated in the Parish Council Offices, which is open Thursday mornings 9.15am – 1.00pm. Tel: 01452 550644.
