FACILITIES PROVIDED BY PARISH COUNCIL

The Council Offices are situated on Parton Road in Churchdown Park. The Offices are run by two members of staff, Mrs Ruth Warne Clerk of Churchdown Parish Council and Mrs Terri Wailes, Assistant Clerk.
Facilities – the Parish Council own and manage five Parks, including play areas, Football pitches and Cricket Pitches, Changing Rooms with showering facilities and a pavilion, a half pipe for skateboards including extra skating equipment e.g. Grinders. Teenage shelter also situated within the Skateboard area to help with shelter from the elements. Pocket Park including wild flower meadow and a Community Orchard.
Allotments – the Parish Council own and run two Allotment sites they are Churchdown Park situated within the Office site and Audenfield situated on Old Parton Road.
Street Furniture – situated around the village are Parish Notice-boards, seats/benches, Bus Shelters, Dog Bins and Waste/Litter Bins most are owned and maintained by the Parish Council.
Community Events – the Council have run various events throughout the year including Farmers Markets, Car-boot Sale, Firework Extravaganza and a Summer Play Scheme and hope to continue in future years.
Planning Applications – Planning applications can be viewed by the Public here at the Offices. All applications are viewed and commented on by Councillors and all comments are then returned to Tewkesbury Borough Council for Delegation/Committee. The Parish Council can only comment on applications on behalf of Residents all final decisions are made by TBC.
Burial Ground – the Parish Council own and manage a Burial Ground situated on Chosen Hill.
The Parish Council participates in the Churchdown Community Safety Partnership with the Police, TBC and various agencies to help reduce crime and fear of crime. They also participate with other Community/Environmental Groups including the Community Orchard Group.
Grants – The Parish Council are a grant making body and encourage requests for grants which are viewed in November of each financial year.
Pilot Taxi Voucher Scheme – in 2004 the Council launched a Pilot Taxi Voucher Scheme for residents of Churchdown, Innsworth, Badgeworth, Down Hatherley and Staverton which is still running. For further details/information relating to the Scheme please contact Mrs Terri Wailes at the Offices.
Parish Council Chamber – the Council consists of 21 Councillors who meet on every second Tuesday of each calendar month (excluding August) in our Parish Council Chamber at 7.30pm. The Chamber is available for hire by local Charities and Community Groups.
Public Toilets – there are public toilets situated outside the Offices including a disabled toilet these are owned and maintained by TBC.
Recycling Facilities – on the car park here at Churchdown Park are recycling facilities for both plastic and glass bottles however for recycling cardboard you will need to go to the cardboard bank situated on Chapel Hay Recreation Ground car park.
Advice and Information Centre – Tewkesbury Borough Council have an Advice and Information Centre situated in the Parish Council Offices, which is open Monday and Thursday mornings 9.15am – 1.00pm. Tel: 01452 550644.
